Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company that operates that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result. We do not retain a separate log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
We may retain an email or other direct message long enough to answer and maintain the exchange. It remains internal unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Loading a page can produce routine technical and usage records, including:
- Page-view dates, times, and visit duration
- Browser name and version
- Device class and operating system
- Internet Protocol address
- Pages viewed during the visit
- A referring site, when one is supplied
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help produce combined traffic measures, such as popular pages and common exit points. A browser can block or delete cookies, although doing so may change how some features work.
What We Do With This Data
- Operate, secure, and improve page performance
- Diagnose errors and other technical faults
- Route a submitted query to the selected search provider
- Measure which material is useful to visitors
- Support advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not host, compile, or sell a personal criminal-record database. The site explains how readers can reach the Barry County Sheriff, Circuit Clerk, MSHP CJIS Central Repository, and Missouri Sex Offender Registry. The county office directory is an independent official source for local office information. Visitor data is not assembled into a third-party criminal file or consumer report, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention periods, and sharing rules govern the data submitted to them. Review the provider's policy before entering a query because those practices are outside our control.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Barry County offices, Missouri agencies, courts, legal organizations, or outside services. Once a visitor follows a link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read those terms before providing personal information.
Advertising providers may use their own systems to measure activity across sites and select ads. We do not control that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal information is not sold. It may be available to:
- A search provider processing a query submitted to its tool
- Advertising networks serving material on a page
- Analytics vendors measuring traffic and performance
- A government or law-enforcement body acting under valid legal process
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used to protect collected data. No internet system can guarantee absolute security, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. A verified report that a minor supplied such data will be handled with a deletion request.
Your Data Rights
Missouri's Sunshine Law, Chapter 610 RSMo, governs public governmental records, while §43.540 RSMo controls dissemination of state criminal-history information. Those laws do not turn this private site into a government custodian. Subject to applicable law, a visitor may:
- Request access to personal information held about the visitor
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Seek deletion where the law permits it
- Decline certain forms of processing when an applicable right exists
